The Odds Bets – These are actually the best bets in the house as they offer true odds and therefore the house (for once) does not have an advantage. They are not marked on the table so you have to know how to play these bets first. Once the point has been set by the shooter you are then allowed to place (up to) double your original bet on the ‘odds’. All this is is a further bet that the point will be rolled before a 7. The bet is placed outside the ‘pass line’ in an land based casino, online casinos sometimes let you place your odds bet also on the pass line (casino etiquette dictates that in a land base casino you should place your chips no closer than two finger widths from your original bet). If the bet is 6 or 8 then the odds are paid out at 6:5. If the point is 5 or 9 then the payout is 3:2 and if the point is 4 or 10 then the payout is 2:1.
